Yanga Chief Opens Up About The Disadvantage Of Reinvesting On His Craft


Award winning rapper Yanga Chief is one of a few artists who decided to push their music as independent artists. As beneficial as it can to a certain extent, the disadvantages can have its toll on them.

Yanga Chief has graced the industry for more than five years now. He was initially signed under JR when he debuted his career, in time he branched out and groomed his brand through an assistance of AKA. The two collaborated on Jika which is one of the most popular hip hop song. After that he delivered a killer tune uTatakho which earned him an award Song Of The Year at the SAHHAs2019.

Last he was on a high rotation dropped his album Becoming A Pop Star. He also received an endorsement deal alongside Nadia Nakai for Courvoiser beverage brand.

Even with all these achievements which escalated his status – the rapper opened up about how it would be nice if he didn’t reinvest on himself. As an independent artist it’s the best choice he has. To encourage himself he opened up about how when he gets the paper it will rain so hard he will be wet wet.
